I was ordered to pay $400 a month in child support but I lost my job and so I cannot pay. The mother of my child refuses to let me see my son for visitation even though the court order says I have visitation with im. Can she refuse to let me see my son because I cannot pay child support?

The answer is NO. You have the legal right to see your son when the court order says you see your son. If she refuses you can take your court order to the local police department and they should enforce your right to have your visits with your son. The fact that you are not able to pay child support is another matter. If the mother wants to take you back to court for contempt she can do that and the judge will question you as to why you are not paying. You should consider returning to court and file an “order to show cause” asking that the court eliminate or lower your child support until you get back to work. If you do not do that then you will owe the mother $400 a month for every month you do not pay, until you get the order changed.
