Why We Win Our Cases
A CLIENT WHO DOES HIS HOMEWORK CAN DRASTICALLY IMPROVE THEIR CHANCES OF A POSITIVE OUTCOME IN THEIR CASE
Wallin & Klarich has helped thousands of clients win their cases for over thirty years. We have found that our clients must take immediate action to maximize their chance of success in their case. When a party files for divorce or has requested a court hearing to address a family law matter it is important to immediately put information together for a family law professional to assist you in your matter. Our clients must prepare a Statement of Case as soon as possible after they are learn of a possible legal separation, divorce, custody or property matter. This STATEMENT OF THE CASE IS EXPLAINED BELOW IN MORE DETAIL.
In addition our clients must prepare a summary of your marriage including the date of marriage and date of separation, and what led to the separation or divorce. If there are any children of the marriage our clients must include the children’s names, date of birth, and current visitation schedule if applicable. It is also important to provide us with any calendars you may have that include the actual visitation schedules exercised.
Please understand that success in your case depends upon a joint effort of superior legal skill which Wallin & Klarich can provide along with “ammunition” provided by you. It is vital that you provide us with as much information as possible as to yourself and every aspect of your case. This can only happen if you immediately begin to do your “homework”.
Also, we will need you to complete and email us back the FAMILY LAW INTAKE sheet that will be emailed to you. This document provides us with contact information and other crucial information about you, your spouse and children so that we can save time when we are working on your case.
We would like to have you email your homework to our law firms at [email protected] now and bring a copy of these documents in with you at your first in office consultation with our experienced lawyers at Wallin & Klarich. However, if you have not had the time to do so by the time of your first appointment we will provide you with a firm deadline by which we need these important documents.
Please remember that there is nothing more important than protecting your family, children and property. Doing your homework now and sending it to us at [email protected] can make a major difference in the possible outcome of your case. Please provide us with this powerful weapon so we can use our great legal knowledge to do all we can to win your case.

Wallin & Klarich wants to know as much about your case as possible. We understand that being involved in a family law matter can be very traumatic and uncomfortable. We request that our clients prepare the “statement of the case” and supply that to our attorneys in order to memorialize the events of the case. This includes details of the current issues you are facing including legal separation, divorce, child custody, child support or property division. Family law cases can take months to resolve and our client’s memory can be crucial. Writing down those events will help the client recall as well as help the attorney have an easy source to read their version of events. For example, if you already have a court ordered visitation schedule, it is important to make sure to write down if the other party actually follows that schedule or if they fail to exercise their court awarded visitation. This statement is used exclusively for legal representation and will be completely confidential.
In every case it is important for our clients to provide us with a list of character references. This is vital to your case. We need to be able to learn more about you from those that know you very well.
In this way we can prepare for court and can best present you as a “good person” who deserves the courts utmost consideration in evaluating your case.
Here is the specific information we need from you.
A list of between 3 and 20 persons who know you and can provide us information about you that is positive in nature. We need the names, addresses and home, work and cell phone numbers of these persons (when available). We need to know what they do for a living and how long they have known you. We also need to know how well they know you and in what context.
It would also be helpful if you could advise us which of these persons you could receive a letter of recommendation from if so requested. That may become necessary in the future in your particular case so please give that some thought as well.
Please provide this list of character witnesses to your Wallin and Klarich attorney and their legal assistant as soon as possible after retaining our law firm. This will help us maximize our chances of a positive result in your case.
To be effective attorneys representing our client’s interests, Wallin & Klarich would like to know as much about their clients as possible. To that end, we request our clients prepare a “social history”. We need to know where they were born, went to school, their occupational background, something about their family, religious affiliations, charitable organizations they belong to, any prior restraining orders, prior criminal history and anything else they can tell us about themselves that will enable us to know them better. Our firm would also need to know if they have any prior or current medical condition or mental illness. The social history allows us to better know our client and thus give our attorneys more credibility in court when we can demonstrate our knowledge of our client’s background.
At Wallin & Klarich, we approach every case with the belief that the person we’re representing could easily be one of our own family members. We’ve seen firsthand how stressful legal matters can be for our clients and their loved ones. We are committed to being available to our clients at all times — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
