According to media sources, singer Ashlee Simpson filed for divorce from Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz. According to TMZ, who first reported the split, Ashlee filed the papers in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce.
Ashlee, the singer, actress and younger sister of Jessica Simpson began dating Wentz in the fall of 2006. The couple got married in May 2008 and they share a 2-year old son named Bronx.
In her court filing, Ashlee requested primary physical custody and joint legal custody of the couple’s only child. She is also seeking the court to grant her spousal and child support and requested her name be restored to “Ashlee Nicole Simpson” and to drop her current last name “Wentz”.
Sources say the couple does not have a prenuptial agreement.
