Insight From a Wallin & Klarich Divorce Attorney
Actor Sean Penn has canceled his California divorce, again. According to an article, the 48 year old actor filed for divorce from his wife, Robin Wright Penn, in a Marin County, California court on April 24, 2009, citing irreconcilable differences. Approximately a month later he changed his mind and withdrew the court papers, which essentially ‘canceled’ the divorce.
“It was an arrogant mistake,” Penn told the New York Daily News on May 22, 2009, referring to his most recent divorce filing. A representative from the courts confirmed that the documents were “dismissed and taken out of the system.”
The couple was married in 1996 after dating on and off for several years. Their first separation was in November 2007. Divorce papers were filed then as well, but the couple reconciled a few months later and called off the divorce in April 2008.
