Once the court decides to detain the child, they will likely place the child in foster care or with a suitable relative.  The court must order visitation and services to be provided as soon as possible to reunify the child with their family if appropriate, based on the circumstances of the case.  Visitation is normally monitored in the beginning and if you comply with the services and will likely increase.  Normally increases in visitation are decided by the social worker.  This is an important time because it marks the beginning of the maximum 18 months of reunification that a parent may receive in a dependency case.

Since there is a time limit on how long you have to reunify with your children, it is important that you seek a knowledgeable dependency attorney.  Wallin & Klarich has more than 30 years of experience in dependency. Our attorneys know from long experience what works in dependency cases, and are prepared to fight to get you the best possible outcome.
